WHO receives more than 78,000 reports for 28 diseases in Yemen

The World Health Organization (WHO) said in a statement it has received more than 78,000 reports for 28 disease spreading in Yemen since the beginning of 2019.

The WHO affirmed there are currently 1,991 surveillance sites of the deadly epidemic diseases such as cholera, dengue, measles, whooping cough and polio.

“In an environment fraught with operational and security challenges, expanding the electronic disease early warning system in Yemen is an important achievement, which aims to detect and respond to epidemic diseases quickly,” the statement said.
