Ministry of Health Declares State of High Alert to Combat Epidemics

The Ministry of Public Health and Population announced a state of high alert for all of its staff and medical staff after issuing a report on the epidemiological situation of dengue and malaria in Yemen for 2019. The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr.Taha Al-Mutawakil, told Al-Masirah TV that the number of people infected with dengue and malaria epidemics is increasing in coastal and Tihama areas.

 

He added that “the number of people infected with malaria increased to nearly one million people, including seventeen people who died, and those infected with dengue fever has exceeded 36 thousand infected, including one hundred and forty-six people died.”

 

Minister Al- Mutawakil confirmed the presence of H1N1 virus in a number of mountainous governorates, pointing to a remarkable increase in the number of people infected with the virus.

 

Dr. Taha al-Mutawakil put the full responsibility, for the spread of thsed epidemics, on the US-Saudi aggression. Yemenis continue to die because the spread of carried viruses by foreign mercenaries including the Sudanese and Janjaweed. The virus of West Nile fever in the coastal areas and also in border areas in Saada and Hajjah governorates is a result of the presence of these mercenaries.

 

He stressed that the ministry will do everything possible to eliminate these epidemics. He add that “it is not unlikely that this break of epidemics is a part of the biological warfare used by the coalition of US_Saudi aggression on Yemen.”
