Hodeidah Governor Reviews the Humanitarian Situation due to the US-Saudi War
Hodeidah Governor, Mohammed Qahim, discussed with the Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, Lise Grande, on Tuesday, the efforts of the Coordinator in the framework of the UN humanitarian plan to face the disastrous humanitarian situation in the province. The Governor welcomed the visit of the Humanitarian Coordinator of Hodeidah within the framework of the visits to get acquainted with the humanitarian situation and the progress of relief work especially Hodeidah governorate as it suffers from difficult humanitarian conditions that require a concerted effort to overcome them.
During the meeting, Qahim reviewed the humanitarian situation in the governorate due to the continuation of the War, the deteriorating economic and humanitarian situation, and the disastrous effects on the citizens in light of the continuing and intransigent forces in preventing the arrival of humanitarian aid and oil derivatives ships to the ports of the province.
He praised the efforts of the humanitarian coordinator to promote humanitarian work, stressing the readiness of the local authority in the province to overcome the difficulties facing humanitarian activity to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
For her part, Grande said that the coordinator is determined to intensify its efforts to improve the humanitarian situation in the province through the United Nations teams to ensure the arrival of emergency assistance that Hodeidah needs.
She expressed her readiness to harness all possibilities, especially in the field of relief and urgently during the coming period to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
