UAE loots electricity office in Socotra Island
UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council Militias have on Monday looted the rest of the office of the Electricity Corporation on Socotra Island, local sources said.
According to the sources, the remaining equipment and furniture from the Socotra Electricity Office have been transferred to the Emirati company “Dexm Power” run by Yasser al-Ani from Iraq, came under the orders of the UAE occupation’s representative Khalfan al-Mazroui.
Activists circulated on social media footage showing the UAE-backed militias looting equipment and furniture from the branch of the Electricity Corporation’s office in the Socotra archipelago.
At the end of August, members of the STC’s militias and the head of the Khalifa Foundation looted generators from the Electricity Corporation of Socotra.
The UAE is working to obliterate Yemen’s identity on Socotra Island by granting Emirati citizenship to the sons of Socotra and establishing its armed militias on the island.
