UAE-Backed Militias Loot Socotra Electricity Corporation

Socotra Electricity Corporation on Wednesday accused UAE-backed militias of looting the foundation’s generators and transferring them to the Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation.

A statement issued by the Electricity Corporation said that leaders in the so-called “security belt forces ” and armed groups broke into the Socotra Electricity Corporation and looted a 750 kV Amir generator with two transformers crane with a power of 2,000 kVa after they attacked the company’s guards and employees.

The statement published the names of the UAE’s followers who looted the generators: Yahya Mubarak Saeed, Brigadier General Ahmed Issa Mohamed, Rafat Ali Ibrahim and Ahmed Muslim Hilal.

The generator and transformers were transported by a tanker belonging to the Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation for Humanitarian Works and under the supervision of engineers of dexm power, a subsidiary of the same company, the statement read.

“The generator building is being destroyed to take and transport six more generators with feeder cables for generators from the old power plant,” the statement added.
