The Saudi-led coalition, backed by the US, has been committing internationally illegal practices on the lifeline of Yemenis.
Governor of Hodeidah province Mohammed Quhim revealed that more than 200 citizens, mostly women and children, have been killed and more than 500 others injured by fire and shelling of the coalition forces and their paid fighters since the singing of Stockholm Agreement in December, 2018, adding that that the coalition forces and their paid fighters caused damage on about 200 facilities in the province districts during the same period.
He noted that dozens died in Ad-Durayhimi as a result of preventing them from going to hospitals outside the district, they were buried in temporary cemeteries because the paid fighters did not allow burying in the district’s cemeteries, and sometimes three or four persons were buried in one grave.
In May, YemenExtra reported that the kidnapping of the fishermen on 15 boats by the “coalition’s forces” took place southwest of the Turfa Island .
According to the latest report by Yemen’s Ministry of Human Rights, the Saudis have deprived over 50,000 Yemeni fishermen of their right to fish, killing dozens of them, and targeting 93 fishing facilities and destroyed 4,586 boats.
Hodeidah scholars , for their parts ,called for a quick end to the coalition’s war on Yemen, lifting the siege –especially the siege on the city of Ad-Durayhimi in Hodeidah governorate– and opening Yemeni airports and ports.
In an extensive meeting , they appealed to all the free people of the world to move seriously and effectively to pressure the coalition’s countries to lift the siege and stop the war, stressing the necessity of the unity of Yemen as a land and a human being and reject calls for secession or partition, and blaming the US and its tools for all the crimes committed against the city of Ad-Durayhimi as a result of the unjust siege.
The sons of At-Tohayta condemned the crime of the coalition’s paid fighters against Mohammed Omar Al-Janani, who was burned alive in front of the full view of the residents . The residents of Al-Mughras rallied in a popular stand declaring their condemnation of the crime and denouncing in strongest terms the practices of the coalition’s paid fighters.
Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, the leader of the revolutionary movement, stressed the readiness of the National Delegation to reach a just peace ,urging “the importance of stopping the brutal war, lifting the unjust siege and opening the airports,” this come during his meeting with UN envoy Martin Griffith .
The dialysis center in Zabid district , as well as, appealed to relief workers, charitable organizations working in the province to save the center from reaching a complete stop.
In March 2015, the US -backed –Saudi-led coalition started a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor.
Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.
Despite the coalition claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi bombers are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
