YMU calls on Int’l Community to Put Pressure on Coalition to Let Foreign Journalists Visit Yemen

Secretary-General of the Supreme Political Council, Dr. Yasser Al-Houri on Saturday stressed that the crimes of Saudi-led aggression Coalition against media professionals are intended to shut independent media voices and to hide the truth from abroad.

Al-Houri pointed out during a seminar organized by the Yemeni Media Union Professionals and the Union of Islamic Radio and Television on the targeting of the Saudi-led aggression coalition on Yemeni media organizations and media professionals under the title (journalist Abdullah Sabri Atypical) that the coalition continues to shed blood over more than Four years where it only has gained lose and defeat.

He further stressed the continued steadfastness in the face of aggression in order to fail its plans against Yemen’s land and human beings.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Information Fahmi Al-Yousfi confirmed that air attack on of at the home Yemeni Media Union’s president Abdullah Sabri in mid-May by the coalition, is a crime contrary to the concepts and principles of international law, which criminalizes the targeting of media professionals and civilian dignitaries.

Hassan Sharaf al-Din, the secretary general of the Yemeni Media Union, and Zakaria Al-Sharabi, a member of the Union of Islamic Radio and Television, called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and put a stop the aggression and put more pressure on the coalition to let media and foreign media to visit Yemen to see what is going on in the country of violations against civilians and civilian objects.
