French Foreign Minister calls for end of Saudi “dirty war” against Yemen
French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian has on Tuesday reiterated calls for Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to end their war in Yemen, describing the conflict as a “dirty war”.
Yemen is witnessing the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, with 22 million people, 75 percent of the population, needing some humanitarian assistance and protection, including 8.4 million people who do not know where to get their next meal.
France is a major supplier of military exports to Saudi Arabia, but has faced significant backlash both domestic and foreign for this policy in recent time.
