Air Transport Director Calls For Opening Sana’a Airport, Lifting Restrictions On All Yemeni Airports
The Saudi-led coalition deliberately violates Yemeni sovereignty by closing the Sana’a International Airport for civil flights as well as restricting and canceling Yemeni Airlines flights to/from Aden International Airport, the General Authority for Civil Aviation said on Tuesday.
“After closing Sana’a International Airport for more than three years, the aggression coalition is currently trying to close Aden International Airport by restricting and canceling Yemeni Airlines flights, preventing the return of stuck Yemenis, especially in the holy month of Ramadan,” Director General of Air Transport Dr. Mazen Ghanem told Saba News Agency.
The aggression coalition has canceled many Yemeni Airlines flights to/from Aden Airport and refused to allow additional flights to facilitate the return of those stuck abroad, Ghanem added.
He called on the international community and the UN Security Council to pressure the aggression countries to stop these violations, which are contrary to international laws, and to issue an international resolution binding the opening of Sana’a airport and lifting the restrictions on all airports of the Republic, including Aden airport.
