France provides Saudi-led aggression with new arms shipment
SANAA, May 8 (YPA) -In a new French involvement in the aggression against Yemen, a cargo ship “Bahri Yanbu”, which is owned by Saudi authorities, is expected to arrive at the French port of Havre to transport French-made artillery pieces destined for Saudi Arabia’s port of Jeddah.
According to the sources, the move sparked widespread controversy in the French parliament.
“More than 60,000 people have been killed and about 16 million Yemenis are threatened with hunger, but France under the name of “Material gain diplomacy” continues to sell arms to Saudi Arabia away of media and public opinion, “Communist MP Jean-Paul said on Tuesday during a session in the National Assembly.
A secret memorandum issued by French intelligence revealed that the Saudi-led coalition is using a “CAESAR self-propelled howitzer” to shell residential areas after it was placed on the border between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
The French authorities are strongly criticized by the press and many non-governmental organizations for selling weapons to Riyadh and Abu Dhabi may be used against civilians in Yemen.
