Combating Poverty Is Priority For National Vision
The National Vision for Building the Modern State of Yemen has given social issues a great attention and priority.
It is the vision that the Supreme Political Council approved on April 20 and directed the government to work under it and to implement its objectives aiming at raising Yemen according to a strategic vision until 2030.
The vision focused on important social factors, including poverty, as the country is classified as one of the world’s poorest countries, and what made matters worse is the brutal war has been faced by the Yemeni people since March 26, 2015.
Therefore, the vision adopted solutions to take the country and citizens out of extreme poverty to self-sufficiency, especially in light of the suspension of external funding and the spread of corruption and unfair division of wealth.
The National Vision adopted a number of important points to correct the situation of the living citizen. The most important of these points is the activation of economic empowerment programs for the poorest and marginalized sectors, the development of Zakat and Endowment resources management and the promotion of community care and protection for the poor.
The vision also focused on the importance of enhancing food security for the poor and channeling international assistance and grants towards effective programs to combat poverty.
