UAE continues its relentless efforts to turn Mahrah to militias

MAHRAH, Feb. 26 (YPA) – Through its so-called Southern Transitional Council (NTC), the United Arab Emirates (UAE) occupation continues to open recruitment doors to its armed militias, which it is creating in many southern provinces, including Mahrah, eastern Yemen.

The “al-Maharh Post” website said that it obtained documents confirm that the UAE, through its tools in the province of Shabwah, which is called the “al-Shabawniain Elite”, recruiting about 1,000 people in the province, for the purpose to be deployed in a  number of districts.

“After the completion of the training process for these militias, the UAE is seeking to send them to three areas, namely” Khour, Merkhah and Mahrah, “the website added.

The UAE has resorted to encouraging Shabwah to recruit and enlist in these militias, so that many of them will be sent to  Mahrah province, after the sons of Mahrah have refused to join their ranks.

It has stepped up their attempts to militarize Mahrah province through the creation of the so-called al-Mahrian elite forces, as one of their military arms in the province, like what it did in many southern provinces.

The UAE has supported these militias to complete its control over the Yemeni ports and islands.
