The Displacement of Thousands from Yemen’s Al-Hodeidah: Report

MA
The total number of people displaced from the West Coast by poor, malnourished and deadly diseases due to the embargo imposed on the country is not getting medicine because of the Saudi blockade and lost their jobs due to the war of 200,000 people (25,000 families) in the last three years, West of Yemen, from Maha to the coastal shack. Displaced persons who mostly fled to Sana’a, Taiz, Aden and Hadramout, including some rural areas. These oppressed Yemenis live in extreme poverty, lack of food, water, and other important things to live.
The Monitoring Team recorded one of the poor families in Hodeidah who welcomed the other families in a narrow and modest house. The number of families is 27, including children and women, who receive only one meal per day, which is given to a donor called Abdullah.
During their visit, the team documented a painful story about the suffering of children and women who have no place to sit except cold land. Maryam, a middle-aged woman in her forties, the mother of four displaced children from the Durham district, who now live in the Hawk neighborhood, tells the story of her escape from her home under aerial bombing, making rockets and flying bullets. “We left everything in the house, even our clothes, we were afraid and we did not want to die,” said Maryam.
“My only wish is to go home, I can not live far from my house, I can not sleep and eat, I’m afraid of war.” “What will you do to get us back to our house?” She screamed, full of anger.
The number of displaced families rose in June 2018 due to the military campaign and attacks on the US-led coalition led by the United States in the coastal province of Hodeida, targeting the villages of Dreimi, Manar, Nakhliya, Shujira and Taif. In addition to the air raids on the city of Hodeidah and the intimidation of civilians using news and propaganda fabricated, which led to the flow of hundreds of people a day to the capital Sana’a, where there are more than 5000 families (38 thousand people) has been prepared for.
At the same time, there are four displacement centers in Hodeidah, which provide support to hundreds of families who have left their homes. The centers provide food and humanitarian relief from donor organizations, activists, associations and the local authority of Hodeidah
