UAE forces , main part of the-Saudi-led coalition, keeps using illegal practices against southern Yemenis whom it has controlled since almost over two years amid anger expressed through protests and so on .
Hundreds of women ,Monday , held a protest against UAE forces’ secret prisons in Yemen’s southern city of Aden, a local official told YemenExtra.
They protested in Khor Maksar district as a result of that the UAE forces have arbitrarily detained, forcibly disappeared and abused hundreds of people during security operations since three years.
In addition, after ignoring all the calls and legitimate by the prisoners of the Bir-Ahmed detainees from the authorities of the UAE in Aden, hundreds of prisoners and those who were forcibly released yesterday announced, Monday ,the open and total hunger strike from today, and that prisoners demanded the prison administration the release of more than 70 cases by Judicial authorities, finding files of prisoners whose fate is unknown so far, improving quality of food and providing what the prisoner needs as a human being, transporting patients to hospital whose conditions are intractable, and not abducting and hiding any prisoner without notice from the prosecution.
The detainees by the Emirates in the prison of Bir Ahmed called on all local and international organizations to move urgently and pressure the authorities of the UAE for the release and investigate their abductors.
Furthermore, private sources in Aden revealed that the UAE didn’t only run secret prisons in the southern provinces but also established new secret prisons in places that can not be imagined, whereas three of them are located two floors underground, which were established before the coalition forces’ control Aden in 2015.
The sources told “Al-Masa’a Press” about the places of 3 of these secret prisons, adding that “The UAE has worked to establish very secret underground detention centers, which were recognized by a few of the southerners ,loyal to the UAE, while most of the supporters of the UAE forces in Aden and the southern provinces know nothing about them, their places, their administration, and those inside.
Notably, Human Rights Watch spoke in a report about executions, torture and rape of migrants and asylum seekers who were detained in Aden, and called for a clear investigation, pointing out that what is shown is not everything.
The authorities in Aden, following the scandal, announced the removal of the official in charge of the detention center for migrants, but according to a report by Human Rights Watch, which included live testimony by African migrants detained, the forces in Aden took part in these shameful operations and were involved in torture and rape.
The rape scandal in Aden comes just a short time after the rape of a woman in Al-Khukhah by a Sudanese soldier who was brought to fight as a mercenary, a crime that still reverberates in Yemen after the courageous attitude shown by the victim’s family in the face of intimidation.
Dozens of rapes revealed in Aden, Al-Khukhah and Mukha have been committed and victims and their families are forced to remain silent.
Aden city, which was occupied by UK but now under the control of UAE, and the rest of the southern cities witnessed an insecurity situation that increased the assassinations of imams of mosques and security and military leaderships.
