Deputy FM discusses WFP tasks, activities in Yemen

Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Al-Ezzi discussed on Wednesday in Sana’a with the World Food Program (WFP)’s Executive Director David Beasley and his accompanying delegation the tasks and activities of the program in Yemen during the current year.

In the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister praised the WFP efforts to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis, which has been exacerbated for the eighth year in a row as a result of the US-Saudi-Emirati military aggression and the overall siege.

He considered the aggression and siege a flagrant violation of international charters and human morals, calling on the United Nations organizations operating in Yemen and international actors to fulfill their humanitarian obligations towards the Yemeni people.

Al-Ezzi stressed the need for the United Nations and its organizations to exert pressure on the aggression coalition countries to reopen Sana’a International Airport and allow the entry of ships of oil derivatives and domestic gas.

The WFP Executive Director confirmed the program’s full commitment to making maximum efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of Yemenis.
