Bahrain’s Top Cleric: Aggression Against Yemen Dirty War by Virtue of Religion, Human Conscience

The aggressive war on Yemen is a dirty war by virtue of religion and human conscience, said Bahrain’s leading religious scholar Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim.

“Yemen is a Muslim country, and its people are among the oldest Muslim peoples, and among the most hardened in defense of Islam, pride and redemption in its cause,” Ayatollah Sheikh Qassim said in a statement on Saturday.

He pointed out that the comprehensive war of aggression against Yemen comes in implementation of the arrogant desire of the US at the hands of neighboring Islamic countries.

The Emirates and Saudi Arabia—the US’s closest allies in the region after the Israeli regime—have been waging a war on Yemen since March 2015. The invasion has been seeking to change Yemen’s ruling structure in favor of the country’s former Riyadh- and Washington-friendly rulers.

The war, which has been enjoying unstinting arms, logistical, and political support on the part of the United States, has killed tens of thousands of Yemenis and turned the entire country into the scene of the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
