Report: US Intelligence Provides Saudi Arabia with Targeting Support in Yemen
The United States continues to provide support to Saudi Arabia in its war against Yemen, by providing it with coordinates for “Houthi military sites”, despite President John Biden’s pledge at the beginning of his rule to end any support provided by his country to Saudi military operations in Yemen, a French website reported.
The Intelligence Online quoted sources as saying that the bombing launched by the Saudi Air Force on Al-Daylami Air Base near Sana’a Airport on November 29, and Sana’a Airport and other sites is the result of this cooperation.
Although the United States backed away from Saudi Arabia’s support when the Biden administration came to power, this bombing was carried out, according to Intelligence Online, using the coordinates provided by the DIA agency of the US Department of Defense.
The French website indicated that the US and Saudi Arabia recently started a new phase in their cooperation on Yemen in the context of the strategic battle in Marib.
It revealed that the renewed US-Saudi coordination on Yemen began with a meeting between US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, US envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on September 27.
The Pentagon’s encouragement sharing with the Saudis coordinates related to “Houthi strategic military targets and locations”, such as the drone and ballistic missile airfields in Sana’a, as well as the Sa’adah Governorate, which is close to the Saudi border and is an Ansarullah stronghold. according to the French website.
The United States publicly admits its involvement in the war on Yemen, by providing intelligence information, providing weapons to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and refueling coalition aircraft in the air. Moreover, Washington provides political cover to Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, which is the support that observers described as prolonging the war on Yemen, and without it, the war would not have continued until today.
