Human Rights Ministry organizes International Human Rights Day event
The Ministry of Human Rights organized on Tuesday an event on the occasion of International Human Rights Day under the slogan “The world celebrates while Yemen is under shelling and siege.”
At the event, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs Lieutenant-General Jalal Al-Ruwaishan stressed that Yemen celebrates the International Day of Human Rights under the continuous bombardment by the aggression coalition and the crimes it perpetrates against women, children, and civilians in shameful silence by those who claim to protect human rights.
He said, “The so-called International Human Rights Day represents the biggest historical lie because it was established in the year of the Palestinian Nakba and the United Nations does not know any meaning of human rights… Noting that the victors in the Second World War were the ones who laid these principles and foundations and decided to formulate them on the basis of their personal interests.”
The Deputy Prime Minister pointed to the human rights violations that Yemen has been subjected to during seven years of aggression in light of the shameful international and international silence. Considering the closure of Sana’a airport is the biggest violation of human rights, even for medical and therapeutic purposes.
He stressed the need to pay attention to national mechanisms to preserve human rights in light of the aggression and siege that the country is facing, stressing Yemen’s commitment to the principles, foundations and standards of human rights and advocating various human rights issues.
Al-Ruwaishan praised the achievements of the justice system that serve the citizen, bring justice to the oppressed, and preserve rights and freedoms. He called for providing support and care to the families of the martyrs in appreciation of the sacrifices made by the martyrs in defense of the homeland, its freedom and independence.
