Attempting to assassinate Taiz university’s head sparks angry protests
Dozens of Taiz University students and professors rallied in angry protests on Monday to demand the Saudi-backed Islah authorities to arrest those accused of attempting to assassinate the university’s president.
In the rally, the participants denounced the inability of the “security and military forces for 3 years to arrest the accused of attempting to assassinate the university’s head, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shuaibi in November 2018.
The protesters in raised slogans demanding the return of Al-Shuaibi to carry out his duties from inside the university after he recovered.
They called for adequate protection for the university’s president and employees as a result of the continuation of repeated attacks, and for the arrest of the perpetrators to ensure the application of the law.
