Zionist navy seizes Palestinian boat with five fishermen on board in southern Gaza

The Union of Fishermen’s Committees in the Gaza Strip announced on Saturday morning that contact with a Palestinian fishermen’s boat west of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip had been lost.

” Contact with another boat carrying a number of fishermen on board west of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip  lost this morning, the union said in a statement.

For his part, the spokesman of the Israeli occupation army claimed that  “the navy stopped a Palestinian boat that exceeded the limits of the permitted fishing area in the southern Gaza Strip.”

“The enemy navy used several means to force him to return, claiming that he refused to heed the warnings, arresting those on board and transporting them for investigation,” he said.

From time to time, fishermen are subjected to violations in many forms, namely, the dumping of their boats into the sea, shooting, pursuing and arresting them, as well as narrowing the fishing area.
