Protesters clash with police in Brussels
Clashes between police and protesters broke out in the streets of Brussels on Sunday during demonstrations against government-imposed Covid-19 restrictions, Reuters reported.
Police fired tear gas and water cannons, while protesters threw stones and smoke bombs at them.
Police said about 35,000 people took part in demonstrations that began peacefully before turning violent.
As the protesters arrived at the police station, they chanted “freedom”.
A protester carried a sign reading, “When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes a duty”.
Police said the situation later returned to normal, According to Reuters.
