Health Minister reveals part of Saudi aggressive war against medicine in Yemen
Yemen’s Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha Al Mutawakel said that there are than 360 categories of medicines need to be cooled and special transport conditions lack of their arrival due to blockade imposed by Saudi-led coalition forces on Yemen.
This came during his speech in the first annual conference of the national pharmaceutical industries on Saturday.
The Minister of Health explained that more than 120 pharmaceutical items needed for chronic diseases permanently prevented the US-Saudi coalition from entering Yemen, and 50 international pharmaceutical companies were prevented from operating in Yemen by the aggression coalition.
He noted that Yemen have 17 pharmaceutical factories and there are 20 factories under construction and we seek to achieve self-sufficiency and overcome the conditions imposed by the aggression and blockade, stressing the need to strengthen our confidence in the local product.
Dr. Al Mutawakel stressed these home-made protects have high quality and great effectiveness.
He pointed out that the national pharmaceutical industry has many challenges and efforts must doubled in order to reach the stage of manufacturing raw materials in Yemen.
