Protesters hold UN, aggression responsible for food insecurity
The Agriculture and Irrigation Office in the Capital Sana’a on Tuesday held the United Nations and the US-Saudi aggression fully responsible for the repercussions of the continued detention of oil ships on vital sectors, especially agriculture, which is the source of food security in the country.
The office in cooperation with the Yemen Oil Company staged a vigil in front of the UN office in the capital Sana’a in which the participants called on the international community and humanitarian and human rights organizations to pressure the forces of the US-led aggression to allow the entry of fuel ships to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe.
The office warned of catastrophic consequences for the agricultural sector and the humanitarian situation in Yemen in general as a result of the continued detention of fuel ships and the prevention of their entry to the port of Hodeida.
It stressed that the aggression’s maritime piracy on oil derivatives ships led to the deterioration of food security sources, the decline of most agricultural crops production and the suffer of the farmers.
