Dialysis center in Taiz closes its door due to Islah militants
The dialysis center at Al-Thawra Hospital in Taiz, southwestern Yemen, on Tuesday has closed its doors to patients.
Medical sources at the hospital accused Islah militants of closing the center, which has 200 patients with kidney failure. The militants also drained the generator fuel by randomly connecting residential neighborhoods adjacent to the hospital and collecting amounts.
The sources indicated that the center’s diesel supply program had been suspended for the past two months.
This comes after World Health Organization stopped supplying fuel to the center since June due to successive attacks by the Islah militants on its staff in the areas under their control.
