Shura Council condemns UN Secretary-General’s decision on Ansarullah
The Shura Council condemned on Saturday the decision of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, to include Ansarullah in the list of violators of children’s rights.
“This step reflects the United Nations’ acquiescence to Saudi pressure, which removed its name with money from the list of violators of children’s rights nearly a year ago, and is still seeking to improve its bad image before world public opinion,” the Shura Council said in a statement.
The statement pointed out that Guterres’ recent decision confirms the lack of credibility of the United Nations, which has been the massacres and horrific crimes committed by the US-Saudi aggression coalition against the children and women of Yemen for more than six years.
The aggression coalition has caused the killing of more than 3,000 children and the injury and disability of more than 4,000 others with its brutal airstrikes, which left psychological effects on the children of Yemen, the statement added.
In its statement, the Shura Council called on the UN chief to rescind his decision. It also called on the Senate and Shura Councils, similar councils at the world level, and international organizations to reject such trends that do not serve the peace process in Yemen.
