STC-Islah conflict causes new collapse of Yemeni riyal in southern provinces

The Yemeni riyal exchange rate on Saturday continued to decline against foreign currencies, one day after the renewed conflict between the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias and the Islah Party’s militias in Abyan province.

As a result, the riyal exchange rate reached 885 riyals per dollar in the provinces of Aden and Hadramout, located under the control of the Saudi-led coalition.

Meanwhile, the exchange rate of the Yemeni riyal in the capital, Sanaa, remained stable at 600 riyals to one dollar. As for the average exchange rate of the dollar on the black market, it reached 605 riyals in Sanaa.
