Parliament welcomes European Parliament’s Decision to Stop Saudi-led War against Yemen
The Yemeni Parliament welcomed the decision of the European Parliament, which included a call to stop the war against Yemen, the withdrawal of all foreign forces, lift the ban on fuel ships, and prevent the sale of weapons to the countries participating in the aggression against Yemen, in the forefront of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Parliament in its session today headed by Deputy Speaker Akram Abdullah Attiyah, considered the European Parliament’s decision a positive approach consistent with all calls for the world’s free people to end the suffering of the Yemeni people as a result of the ongoing aggression and comprehensive siege.
The Parliament expressed its aspiration for the European Union and the new US administration to take concrete practical measures on reality that will reflect on the conditions of the Yemeni people, who are suffering from the worst humanitarian crisis in contemporary history due to the continued aggression and blockade.
The Parliament closely followed the positive steps and positions to end the war, and welcomed calls for peace and dialogue between Yemenis away from foreign interference to reach an honorable settlement that leads first and foremost to preserve the unity, security, stability and safety of Yemen. It also considered that the security and stability of the region is linked to stopping the war and bringing about comprehensive peace in Yemen.
