Suicide bombing strikes Somalia’s capital
An explosion has rocked Somalia’s capital Mogadishu, local media reports stated.
According to the local media, a suicide car bomb exploded in a security checkpoint near the presidential palace in Mogadishu, Somalia, on Saturday.
Local Somali media published photographs from the scene of the blast, indicating that a number of people were likely killed.
Activists circulated on twitter, pictures of the bombing,
“A suicide car bomb attack took place near a security checkpoint at a junction in Mogadishu, near parliament and the Somali Presidential Palace,” they said.
To date, there has been no information of casualties or damage from the bombing.
