Al-Murtada Reveals New Developments In The Amman Negotiations

The head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs revealed new requirements for representatives of the Islah party in the ongoing negotiations in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

Abdul Qadir Al-Murtada said in a tweet on his official account on Twitter: “The representatives of the Islah party are putting new conditions outside the prisoner exchange agreement that would impede the efforts of the solution.”

He called on the United Nations to put an end to the requirements of the Islah party representatives, to avoid the failure of the negotiations round.

“Whenever we take a step forward, representatives of the Islah party take us two steps back,” he added.

The National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs had confirmed earlier that the Islah Party’s ruling over the prisoners ’file made it more difficult to reach an agreement in it, given their focus only on liberating their members without concern for the rest of the prisoners from the other.
