Protests call for disbursement of teachers’ salaries in Abyan

A number of teachers on Sunday staged a protest rally in Abyan province demanding disbursement of their salaries, which have been looted since 2015.

 Participants in the protest called on Hadi’s government to urgently pay their salaries looted by the provincial finance office five years ago.

In a statement, the Trade Union Committee for Educational Professions called on local authorities to pay salaries to the teachers, as other colleagues in the rest of the province’s directorates.

 They threatened to launch a partial and total strike if their legitimate human rights demands were not met.
