SCMCH secretary-general, UNHCR resident representative discuss actual partnership
Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (SCMCH) Abdul Mohsen Tawoos discussed here on Tuesday with UNHCR Resident Representative John Nicholas aspects of cooperation and actual partnership between the two sides.
In the meeting, Tawoos affirmed the importance of establishing working mechanisms to ensure the success of the effective partnership that will promote humanitarian work, serve beneficiaries, and provide services to those affected.
He also stressed the need to adhere to the rules of humanitarian action in accordance with clear standards and the need for continuous coordination with the SCMCH to develop appropriate recommendations that would raise the level of fieldwork.
On his part, Nicholas confirmed the UNHCR’s commitment to cooperating with the SCMCH and exerting efforts to maintain joint coordination frameworks, hailing the SCMCH’s efforts in providing facilities to humanitarian organizations operating in Yemen.
