Citizen kidnapped at Aden airport while travelling for treatment abroad
A citizen was abducted from Aden International Airport by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias, while on his way to treatment abroad.
Hassan was kidnapped on Monday while was on a Yemeni plane at Aden airport on his way to Cairo for treatment, the family of Hassan al-Ammari said, according to the Mahrah Post website.
“Al-Ammari was forced off the plane alone and his family travelled unaccompanied, while the whereabouts of his abduction are not officially known, but it is expected that the militias that control the airport have them,” she said.
Al-Ammari’s family blamed Aden airport security for its safety, saying he “has nothing to do with any party or any group and has nothing to do with politics.
The incident came about a month after 70-year-old Sheikh Abdelkader al-Shaibani was kidnapped by a the STC militia in the same area on his way to Cairo for treatment.
The city of Aden has been witnessing a state of insecurity and overwhelming chaos, amid growing amounts of assassination and kidnapping in the city.
