Russia records 467 death cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours

Russian health authorities on Saturday reported 467 deaths and 24,822 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the largest increase since the onset of the pandemic.

The Operations Room for the Fighting Coronavirus in Russia confirmed in its daily report that the new infections were recorded among all 85 regions of the country.\

The capital Moscow and the city of Petersburg recorded an unprecedented jump of 7,168 and 2,476 new infections, respectively.

In 23.4% of new patients did not show symptoms.

The total number of coronavirus infections recorded in Russia since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 2.646, 474, 8 confirmed infections, 35,778 deaths and 451,535 active cases have been recorded (a decrease of 1,666 active cases since yesterday).

The number of new recoveries exceeded the number of infections for the fourth consecutive day, with 26,021 recovery during the last day, bringing the total to 1,577,435.

To date, more than 71.8 million laboratory tests for coronavirus infections (588,000 in the past 24 hours) have been conducted in Russia and more than 474,000 people remain under medical supervision.

Russian authorities are seeking to launch a large-scale vaccination campaign against Corona in the country by the end of the year.
