Yemeni students carry out sit-in in front of Yemeni embassy in Moscow
The Yemeni students started on Monday to carry out an open sit-in, refusing decision of Ministry of Higher Education of dropping 113 students from the financial entitlement statements for the first quarter of 2020 AD and delayed sending tuition fees and financial dues for three consecutive quarters.
The protesting students coming from various Russian cities called on the Ministry of Higher Education and the Yemeni government to stop manipulating the future of the country’s wealth from Yemen’s finest students and academics.
At the same time, they stressed the rejection of arbitrary decisions and the need to fulfill all obligations for students on scholarships.
The head of the Preparatory Committee for Yemeni Students in Russia said in a press statement that the Yemeni students in Russia will always and always be the burning torch against all those who manipulate the students’ future abroad, stressing that their escalatory steps are continuing and will not stop until the government and the Ministry of Higher Education abide by all their obligations and send the donations of financial dues, in addition to the need to find radical solutions to the problems.
Yemeni students on scholarship abroad live in difficult conditions due to the delay in disbursing financial dues and the irresponsible decisions that the Ministry of Higher Education adopts in exiled Hadi’s government regarding students.
