Five killed due to shelling on Ganga city in Azerbaijan
A rocket targeted a residential building in the country’s second largest city, Ganga, killing at least five people, authorities in Azerbaijan said Sunday.
“One residential building was completely destroyed after being targeted by a missile. At least five bodies were recovered from the rubble, while 17 were injured, according to the Azerbaijani authorities.
The rescue operations are continuing at the scene.”
The Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan confirmed that at least five people were killed and 28 injured in the attack on The City of Ganga.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence had indicated earlier in the day that the city of Ganga was being shelled from the territory of Armenia, where tension swelled over the Nagorno Karabakh region.
For her part, The Armenian Defense Ministry spokeswoman, Shushan Stepanián denied Baku’s allegations of shelling of the town of Ganga, west of Azerbaijan, from Armenian territory.
