Deputy Foreign Meets ICRC’ Mission: Sana’a Committed to Providing ICRC with Needed Help
Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Al-Ezzi met with the new head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation to Yemen Katrina Ritz. During the meeting, Sunday, they discussed the cooperation between Yemen and the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation, and ways to enhance and develop them.
In the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs objected to the latest developments in the humanitarian situation resulting from the aggression and siege imposed on the Yemeni People since March 26, 2015, especially the recent escalation in the besieged Ad-Durayhimi two years ago. He praised the level of the existing partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation, reiterating the readiness to provide all necessary help to the mission and its personnel.
The Deputy Foreign Minister praised the role of the International Committee of the Red Cross in implementing the prisoner exchange agreement recently reached in Geneva, expressing readiness to translate the agreement into reality.
For her part, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation to Yemen expressed her appreciation for the facilities provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the concerned authorities in Sana’a. She emphasized that the mission will continue to provide all possible support to Yemen, which would contribute to alleviating the human suffering that the Yemeni People are going through.
