UN only to Consider Necessity of Maintaining Safer ship
The Acting Chairman of the Higher Economic Committee, Hashem Ismail, the Minister of Oil and Minerals, Ahmed Dares, and the National Consultative Team, met with the team of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen and the UNOPS team. In the meeting they discussed the implementation of the urgent maintenance agreement and the comprehensive evaluation of the oil tanker, Safer .
During the meeting, the UNOPS team recognized the importance of the remarks, and requested another deadline to study them again and hold another meeting next week, although they were approved and agreed upon in a previous meeting.
the Minister Dares called for steps to be taken to repair the deteriorating condition of the ship.
For his part, the United Nations Office confirmed that the United Nations is ready to cooperate on the maintenance of the floating ship Safer, as agreed upon. The United Nations submitted a request for additional visas allowing for more experts, in addition to what it had previously provided, and it was granted in a timely manner.
