Training Course For 20 From Al-Jawf On Dangers Of Cluster Bombs Trained

An awareness training course on the dangers of mines, cluster bombs, and the remnants of the aggression raids held in the capital Sanaa.

A five-day course, organized by Yemen’s Executive Mine Action Centre, will involve 20 trainees from al-Masloub, al-Hazm, al-Moton, and al-Ghail districts of Jawf province.

At the opening of the training course, the Director of the Executive Center Brig. Gen. Ali Abdullah Safra confirmed that Jawf province is one of the provinces most affected by the remnants of aggression and its cluster bombs.

Safra called on UNICEF to adhere to its responsibilities in providing awareness materials to reduce the victims of these hazardous remnants.

He also called on the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to allow the entry of fieldwork requirements related to clearing mines and cluster bombs of the aggression warplanes, as this is one of the most difficult facing the work of the Executive Center.

Faisal Hussein al-Akkah, director of the office of social affairs and labor in Jawf province, praised the executive center’s humanitarian role in preserving people’s lives.

He called for providing support and assistance to those affected by unexploded ordnance and cluster bombs, pointing out the suffering of the people of the province, especially women and children, from these dangerous remnants.
