Foreign Minister meets head of ICRC delegation
Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf Abdullah has met with the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation Franz Rauchenstein on the occasion of ending his tenure in Yemen.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for Rauchenstein’s efforts in strengthening the partnership between the National Salvation Government and the ICRC during his term in Yemen, wishing him success in his future duties.
The minister Sharaf addressed the continuing violations of international humanitarian law by the Saudi-led aggression coalition, the continuing deterioration of the humanitarian situation due to the aggression and blockade imposed on Yemen for the sixth year in a row, which affected the living life of citizens, as well as significant damage to the economic, financial and commercial sectors.
He noted that the Ministry would continue to provide the ICRC mission and staff with the necessary facilities to enable it to carry out its activities as appropriate.
For his part, Rauchenstein expressed his appreciation for the facilities provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant authorities to the ICRC mission, stressed that the mission will spare no effort in providing all support and assistance to the Yemeni people, especially in the current circumstances.
