Telecommunications Ministry condemns aggression’s attacks on telecom facilities
Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology on Thursday condemned the airstrikes waged by Saudi-led aggression coalition aircraft on civil telecommunications facilities in Amran and Sanaa provinces.
The ministry said, in a statement, that the coalition warplanes targeted the telecommunication, stations and towers in each of Bani Ghaith area in Bani Suraim and Tharwa Mountain in Thaibeen district in Amran province and in al-Howeri hill in Hamdan district in Sanaa province.
Those attacks led to the suspension of telecommunication and internet services in more than 15 districts in Amran, Sanaa and Jawf provinces and deprived hundreds of thousands of civilians from basic telecommunication services, bringing the number of Yemeni areas isolated from the world to 67 areas, according to the statement.
The frequent and direct targeting of the telecommunication infrastructure and facilities has caused severe destruction and damage to the national telecommunication network, the ministry added.
