Fire at central power station in Mahrah causes outage

A huge fire broke out at the central power station in Sayhut District, causing a complete power outage on the Sayhut and al-Masilah Districts in Mahrah province, eastern Yemen, local sources said on Friday.

According to the sources, the fire caused by the burning of one of the old generators which has been in service for more than 12 years.

Other sources suggested that the causes of the current extinguishing due to the entry of water and diesel under cables, where the power supply is still out until the moment.
