WFP: Widespread Fear of Starvation as Result of Corona Pandemic

The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) on Friday expressed widespread fear of starvation as a result of the emerging Corona pandemic (Covid-19).

“We are sounding the alarm, we are afraid of a major crisis,” said Wilt newspaper, quoting the representative of the World Food Program in Berlin, Bettina Löscher.

She added: The new Corona pandemic threatens the growth of the number of hungry people in the world, who according to United Nations statistics now number up to 820 million people.
