Gunmen seize 9 ambulances in Aden

 In a new scandal that reveals the total collapse of security in Aden, gunmen looted nine ambulance vehicles provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) in Aden and neighboring provinces on Sunday, officials said.

Hadi’s Health ministry officials went to Aden port to receive the vehicles in preparation for distribution to neighboring provinces and Aden, according to the officials.

During the receiving of the vehicles, armed men aboard military pickups stormed the port and took over nine ambulances on the grounds that a health site needed them.

A health ministry source in Aden said there were 81 cars, 12 of which were ambulances.

The source said that a communication process was in contact with the coalition leadership with the aim of returning the nine cars seized.

According to” Aden al-Ghad” Newspaper, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in coalition-backed government, Dr. Ashraq Al-Subai said that officials in the health office were surprised then gunmen stormed the port an and took over nine ambulance vehicles.

Al-Subai said the operation was surprising and strange, noting that the cars should have been received first and then distributed by the health ministry.

She said she had informed the coalition leadership in Aden of what had happened and they had promised to return the vehicles.
