Gunmen rape displaced girl in Abyan
A displaced girl was brutally raped by armed men belonging to the UAE-backed “Southern Transitional Council” STC in Abyan province, southern Yemen, local sources said.
According to the local sources in the province, the girl, who fled with her family from Hodeidah province, went out on Monday, accompanied by her younger sister, to Wadi Hassan to fetch firewood, near one of the military sites belonging to the STC.
The sources confirmed that three gunmen of the STC attacked the girl, who raped her in a brutal and criminal manner, after which the girl was in a state of collapse and coma.
The sources added that the little girl, had moved away from the girl in the process of searching for firewood, when she returned and found her sister semi-dead, then headed towards the main road to call for help from passers-by to save her sister, amid the screams and crying “sister. My sister.
The sources indicated that the child stopped, the driver of one of the taxi buses, with citizens on board, who turned towards the girl who found her unconscious and in very bad condition.
While the citizens, who tried to rescue the girl, were heavily shot by gunmen who demanded that they leave the girl, and that they would take over the task of aiding her on board a military pickup vehicle to Abyan General Hospital.
The gunmen took the victim and her younger sister, and went at a crazy speed, without helping the girl, and took her to an unknown location, the sources said.
