Bonyan Foundation Denies Claims Published by the American Associated Press
Bonyan Development Foundation denied what was published by AP Agency in a report that “Yemen’s Houthi rebels have blocked half of the United Nations’ aid delivery programs in the war-torn country — a strong-arm tactic to force the agency to give them greater control over the massive humanitarian campaign.” The Foundation confirmed in a statement that what was stated in the report is completely unrealistic, noting that the Foundation did not have during the last period any communications or requests by the government side to participate with the United Nations organizations in distributing the assistance it provides.
The statement pointed out that Bonyan Foundation works in the local community framework in partnership with local organizations, to give the community the efficiency and effectiveness that qualifies it to participate in construction and development, through awareness, support, empowerment and development of the capabilities of the neediest groups and create opportunities for self-sufficiency.
In its statement, the Foundation called on all organizations and humanitarian workers to unite the energies and efforts in order to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni People as a result of the aggression and the siege.
