The Human Tragedy in al-Hudayda: From U.S. Role to UN Silence

The Saudi-led coalition has once again committed a terrible crime in Hodeidah. Just two weeks ago, another humanitarian tragedy took place in the city of Saada in Yemen.
Coalition warplanes bombarded al-Dharimi district, 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the western city of Hodeidah, where more than 30 Yemeni civilians were killed in the attack on Thursday.
The heinous crime against the helpless people of Yemen has led to many reactions from different parties. Saudi Arabia and its allies have committed such a heinous crime in Yemen to avenge the army and the popular committees in Yemen on various fronts.
The firing of long-range ballistic missiles at strategic Saudi positions inside Saudi territory and at its border points, heavy financial losses and rocket-propelled grenades in strategic areas are some of the achievements of the Yemeni army and the popular committees against the Saudis. This is precisely why we are seeing an increase in crimes against civilians in Yemen today.
Saudi Arabia has made every effort to occupy the port of Hodeidah, but resorted to the United Nations to achieve this goal. The Saudi-led coalition had everything in power to control the port. But the Yemeni resistance ultimately dissolved their efforts and foiled the coalition from achieving any of their targets in Hodeidah.
Even the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have cooperation from al-Qaeda and Bab al-Mandab to bring down the spirit of Yemenis, but to no avail.
Other factors that led Saudi Arabia to commit this heinous crime against Yemeni children in Hodeidah were insecurity in Bab al-Mandab for the Saudi navy and insecurity at Abu Dhabi airport.
The United States is also one of the most important parties in the current crisis in Yemen. Washington continues to sell arms to Riyadh, despite the fact that the House of Saud has committed a series of war crimes against defenseless and innocent Yemenis. An issue that has led to a long and unequal war against Yemenis.
Although the United States appears to be struggling to keep silent about human rights violations committed in Yemen, its strategy will not prove to be innocent in the eyes of the public. The world knows very well that the millions of dollars spent on the Yemen war go into the pocket of the American arms industry.
At the same time, the position of the United Nations is very interesting. The truth is that the United Nations has never fulfilled its responsibilities for Yemen over the past three years and has made no effort to save the Yemeni people from slaughter by the Saudis. In such a case, it is quite natural that Saudi Arabia continues to commit its crimes against Yemeni civilians..
