Coronavirus death cases rise to 425 in China
The number of victims of the coronavirus in the country has risen to 425, and the number of infected people has reached 20.4,000, Chinese authorities said on Tuesday.
“As of midnight on February 3, china’s National Health Commission had obtained data from 31 provinces that 20,438 people had been infected, including 2,788 critically, 425 people had died and 632 had recovered,” the National Health Commission of China said in a statement.
The statement noted that 3,235 new cases were detected yesterday in the country, stressing that no new cases were reported in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
According to the statement, 23,214,000 new cases have been suspected and are being constantly examined and monitored, and 1, 713 people have been in close contact with cases of coronavirus and are now under surveillance and follow-up.
Chinese authorities in Hubei Province said in the early hours of Tuesday that the number of victims of the coronavirus in the province had risen to 414, and the number of infected people reached 13,522.
“The number of victims in Hubei Province has risen to 414, and the number of injured has reached 13,522,” state television quoted the authorities as saying.
On December 31, Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization (WHO) of an outbreak of pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus in Wuhan city, in the central part of the country.
