EU, France, Netherlands Ambassadors leave Sana’a
The European Union (EU)’s ambassador to Yemen Hans Grundberg, French ambassador Christian Testo, and Dutch ambassador Irma Van Doorn on Thursday left Sana’a after a few-day visit to Yemen.
The ambassadors have held many meetings with officials in the National Salvation Government Sana’a, and visited Hodeidah where they saw the “systematic destruction” suffered by the Red Sea city.
The European diplomats were in a mission to Sana’a as part of the EU continued engagement with Yemen actors to reach an inclusive political settlement, to encourage de-escalation efforts, and to resume political talks between Yemeni parties, under UN envoy’s sponsorship, the envoys said Sunday in a statement.
The ambassadors will call for unobstructed humanitarian access, improved working environment for humanitarian actors, respected human rights, improved living conditions for Yemenis, and will discuss economic, development, environment and cultural issues, the statement added.
