YPC: US-Saudi coalition Releases One Oil Tanker of Eight

Yemen Petroleum Company (YPC) announced, on Thursday evening, that the coalition of war has released only one oil tanker while 7 others are still being detained.

“BAHIR DAR tanker, loaded with a 29,930 tons of gasoline, has arrived at the port of Hodeidah Thursday, after it was detained by the coalition for a period of 15 days,” the company said in a statement obtained .

“The coalition of aggression is still holding seven tankers offshore, the first was detained for more than 40 days,” the statement reads.

It indicated that the quantities seized on those tankers amounted to “83,902” of gasoline, and “110,666” of diesel.

The statement stressed that the coalition prevents ships from entering the port of Hodeidah despite obtaining United Nations permits, in order to tighten the screws on citizens and increase their suffering in light of the urgent need for petroleum materials.

On Thursday, the spokesman of Yemen Petroleum Company Amin Al-Shabati said that the number of ships that are held by the coalition is 13, all of them had permissions by the United Nations.

Al-Shabati said that there are 8 detained tankers containing oil derivatives, including 113 thousand tons of gasoline and 110 thousand tons of diesel. He added that among the detained ships, 5 ships are containing foodstuffs, pointing out that the detention period of the 13 ships has exceeded forty days.

The spokesman said that “The United Nations are responsible to put pressure on thecoalition, especially all ships that have permissions through the United Nations mechanism.”
