Coalition detains 17 Yemeni fishermen
Saudi Arabia detained 17 other Yemeni fishermen from Al-Khokha district in the province of Hodeidah after being abducted by coalition forces on the pretext of “working with the Houthis.”
The leaders and elders of Al-Khokha called on the Saudi-UAE-led coalition, that directly supported by US and Britain, “to release fishermen detained in Jizan, Saudi Arabia.”
The residents of al-Khokha confirmed in a press release that “the detained fishermen have nothing to do with Houthi or smuggling,” demanding that the media and human rights organizations stand by the fishermen.
According to the report of the Ministry of Fisheries Wealth of Salvation Government, “the coalition carried out 81 direct attacks on Yemeni fishermen in four years, killing and wounding 500 fishermen, kidnapping and torture about 1000 fishermen, and deprive 40,000 fishermen of their profession.”
